Resident Advisor is really stepping it up with their video features. For this session, 3 musicians, all reigning from different backgrounds, come together to create genre-fused captivating performance.
The Map is a 55 minute orchestral piece by Chinese composer Tan Dun. The piece was originally created in 2002 for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, who performed the piece a year later in Massachusetts featuring renown cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The performance made it’s way around the world but came to a halt after it’s most recent show in Amsterdam just over a year ago. It was recommended to me by one of my professors.. I watched the entire performance but the segment above stood out to me the most.
